Are you still turning on your Christmas tree after Christmas has ended? Not ready to put it away? Turn it into a New Years Tree!

It’s exactly what I did this year. I came up with the idea last minute but I love the way it came out. Everything was purchased from Party City and I only spent about $25! That’s including a few extra hats for my family and I to wear. I even have a few left over banners that I can use around the house.

Next year I plan to personalize my new years tree by including picture ornaments of past new years festivities. Here are few ideas on how to personalize your own tree…
- add accomplishments or reminders of special moments of the year
- add anything to encourage you with your new years resolutions
- add party hats, streamers or noise makers…anything that you used to celebrate
- add your favorite ornaments
- add cutouts of stars, champagne glasses, hats…anything that reminds you of a new years celebration
- if you traveled, add any souvenirs you brought back from your trip

The opportunities to personalize your own tree are endless. It is a great way to look back at the year and reminisce on all the good and bad moments you had. Bad moments only make us stronger because we learn from everything that happens in our lives. We learn what not to do, how to make improvements, how to better ourselves and even how to value the little things when they are gone.
Visit your local craft store for more ideas on what to include in your new years tree. If you make it after the new year you may even score on some sweet discounts!! What better way to continue enjoying the holidays by making minor changes to your Christmas tree. Now the only problem is I may want to keep changing the theme as an excuse to leave my tree up!

Make it your holiday monthly tree! Keep it going next is valentine’s and black history month. So forth.
